Thank you so much for registering to volunteer at our Nearly New Sale on Saturday 12th October at the Priory
School in Hitchin, we are very grateful. Our sales are hugely popular, and it needs a big team of volunteers!
Its hard work, but fun and rewarding with a very friendly team!

inbox, use the link to select the sessions you can help at and complete your registration.
Tasks for set up and during the sale include the following:
Rail set up
Unpacking, sorting clothes and equipment
Large items, signage, manning tills, doors and helping shoppers
After the sale repacking and sorting, ticket counting and checking
Please note the following important information when registering to volunteer:
- Advise of any disabilities/injuries that prevent you from taking part in certain activities
- Advise us if you are pregnant and how far along
- Let us know if prefer a certain type of job or have never volunteered before;
- Babes in arms are permitted (please let us know if you plan on bringing a baby) HOWEVER CHILDREN
UNDER 11 years old are NOT permitted during set up on Saturday morning (9.00-12.00hrs). This is due to it
being extremely busy, with lots of set up taking place, and not being a suitable environment for children.
Children can be present with you during the sale if necessary, as we can try to allocate a job that allows, but we
often find parents prefer to leave the children at home for a few hours!
Once set up is complete on Saturday morning (approximately 11.30hrs), there will an opportunity for all
volunteers to shop before the sale is open at 1.00pm.
- If you only volunteer pre-sale, commission remains at 30%.
- Volunteer during (12.00 – 3.00pm) or after (3 – 6pm) the sale and commission is reduced to 25%.
- Volunteer for sale and post-sale then commission is reduced to 20%.
We are always short of volunteers during the post sale tidy up, so please consider if you can help for this time –
If you are selling, you have to come and collect your unsold items, s why not escape the kids/house/cooking
dinner and come and help out? Its hard work, but rewarding and fun at the same time, plus there is always cake!
