Are you interested in meeting people, developing skills, working in a team, helping new parents? Do you have a background in admin, customer services, finance or accounting, IT or databases, copywriting, marketing, press and social media or the web? Or would you like to develop some of these skills? If so, there is definitely a role for you (and a friend as all the roles can be organised as job-shares).

Why don’t you come to our meeting on the evening of the 8 February to find out more?

Volunteering is fun, allows you to use your experience, gain new skills and make friends. And you have the satisfaction of knowing that you’re helping to make a difference to local parents.

Volunteer Helen says, "I started volunteering with the aim of meeting a few more local mums and ended up making some amazing friendships. Volunteering has also helped keep up my work skills and provided a huge amount of fun and laughter along the way. I had fantastic support through Bumps & Babies with plenty of like-minded people to chat with."

We are planning to hold a training day in June for London volunteers, so you’ll be able to attend training workshops and network with other branches to share ideas and good practice.

Branch restructure
Our Lewisham branch is one of the largest in the country and we know that smaller branches are more likely to be able to reach parents in their communities and make volunteering more enjoyable, so we are considering breaking it up into four smaller branches.

The proposed new branches would be:
• Lewisham Deptford covering SE4 (Brockley), SE8 (Deptford) and SE14 (New Cross)
• Lewisham East covering SE12 (Lee), SE13 (Lewisham) and SE6 (Catford)
• Lewisham West covering SE23 (Forest Hill)
• Blackheath covering SE3 0 and SE3 9

As an NCT supporter we value your opinion on this issue. The survey closed on 5 February. There will be a chance to discuss the restructure at the meeting on the 8 February. Remember to let us know you are attending.
